Firstly, some context for this assignment
The School Self-Evaluation (SSE) process provides a structured, reflective approach for teachers to assess and improve their strategies for fostering emotional regulation and learning readiness. This course embeds the six-step SSE framework to guide teachers in evaluating their current practices, implementing neuroscience-based regulation strategies and measuring their effectiveness in creating a supportive classroom environment.
To support you in implementing and measuring these strategies on your return to school, please read through the steps of the SSE framework and complete the questions for step 4 below.
This process will support your work going forward.
The 6 steps of the SSE framework named below have been touched on throughout the course and your assignments. To finish we would like you to focus on step 4.
- STEP 1 Identifying the Focus ✅ Completed during the course
- STEP 2 Gathering Evidence ✅ Completed during the course
- STEP 3 Analyzing and Making Judgements ✅ Completed during the course
- STEP 4 Developing a self evaluation report and an Improvement Plan – Teachers create SMART goals(Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) and actionable steps to enhance their regulation approaches, integrating co-regulation strategies, structured routines and sensory supports.
- STEP 5 Implementing the Plan 🗓️ Can be completed on your return to school
- STEP 6 Monitoring and Evaluating Impact 🗓️ Can be completed on your return to school
By embedding SSE into this course, teachers develop a structured, data-driven approach to improving emotional regulation practices, ultimately enhancing self and student well-being and readiness to learn.
